Marie Jenkins founded Kosmea in 1993 and now formulates all her products from her converted church office in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. From when she was young, her Greek mother taught her about all the wonderful things nature could do for your health and used herbs and flower essences to keep us all healthy.

As Marie was mixing up a recipe for a face mask for herself, one of the ingredients she needed was rose hips. She went to my local nursery to buy some and they just gave them to Marie as they had no need for them. As well as the rose hips, she was given an article about rose hip oil. It said rose hip oil was good for minor burns, scars, eczema and stretchmarks. It was then that Marie decided to try to bottle and sell it to make a little extra pocket money.

Since Kosmea’s rose hip oil was so popular and Marie received great feedback from both health food stores and customers, she began to work on a formula for a moisturiser. Marie also started exporting her rose hip oil to Hong Kong. Nowadays Marie deals with all sorts of markets from Asia, the USA, UK and Canada.

Marie's belief in natural skin care means that she will never compromise on sourcing the finest natural ingredients or their quality. She is passionate and dedicated to changing the way people treat their skin and to do this she has worked hard to bring innovative natural products within the reach of every woman. Maire made Kosmea one of the first skin care companies to challenge the conventional manufacturing of skin care to avoid the use of harmful synthetic ingredients.
